She stole her brother's ashes. Now she has six hours to say goodbye.
Our Last Fall, Lyvia Martinez’s debut novel, is a bittersweet, coming-of-age, YA story about Eva, a Puerto Rican teen who steals her brother’s ashes and brings their friend group to the Los Angeles County Fair for one reckless, loud goodbye. She also has to navigate her complicated feelings for her first love and Javi’s best friend, Clare. It’s a perfect read for fans of Rachael Lippincott and the movie Booksmart.
Lyvia Martinez grew up in Puerto Rico, where her love of stories was shaped through weekends binging Blockbuster movies and long afternoons reading during power outages. She studied filmmaking and screenwriting at Brigham Young University and Chapman University, and is a graduate of the Golden Crown Literary Society's Writing Academy. Lyvia has worked in Film and TV for over ten years and loves stories in all forms. She currently works in event planning for an animation studio and resides in Los Angeles with her wife, a clowder of charismatic cats, and a revolving door of foster animals.
Bridget Morrissey lives in Los Angeles but hails from Oak Forest, Illinois. When she’s not writing, she can be found cradling one of her cats like a baby or headlining concerts in her living room. She is the author of several novels including That Summer Feeling, Everything She Does is Magic, and USA Today and indie bestseller This Will Be Fun, co-written with Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka under the pen name E.B. Asher.
